Building Community Solutions

Who are we?

Building Community Solutions is an exciting resource designed to open up and enhance opportunities for persons with disabilities. The guidebook will increase the capacities of communities, groups and organizations to fully include people with disabilities. Three Community Consultants worked to increase the knowledge and resources available to people. Through a series of focus groups people from various community backgrounds were brought together to discuss barriers faced by people in marginalized groups. Solutions were gathered and the guidebook was born!

Mission Statement

To ensure communities, groups and organizations have the tools and resources available to facilitate the fullest possible participation of all current and future members.

Why is our Project Important?

A shift on the part of communities, groups and organizations to further recognize the vast array of abilities people with disabilities have to contribute.

Increase the opportunities available to individuals with disabilities to create more meaningful interaction for both the individuals and community organizations.

In turn, people with disabilities will have the chance to develop their strengths, abilities and talents to improve their quality of life.
